A circle of type

A long time ago, I picked up a box of unused 10pt Univers metal type. It sat on a shelf doing nothing. I had tried this technique out a year ago, but much smaller. This was the perfect material to use on a larger scale.

After a lot of trial and error, I found making a paper circle and sitting it on it’s side was the best way to get the type to sit. Each of these little sushi wraps was then flipped the right way round, and sat inside a larger circle made from leading material. The whole thing measured 270mm in diameter.
